The British Columbia Chiropractic Association or BCCA is a professional organization of approximately 900 members that works to promote back health and chiropractic care. The BCCA supports the patients of BC and Chiropractic Doctors by educating the public about their spines and how to keep them healthy. Campaigns such as the “Pack it Light, Wear it Right” backpack program and “Think Twice, Lift Once” workplace safety initiative were developed with this goal in mind. As spine experts, chiropractors have extensive knowledge of posture and injury prevention techniques that can greatly benefit the health of your back.
In an effort to improve health care for all British Columbians, the BCCA acts on behalf of chiropractors and the public to meet with political leaders, insurance companies and other health associations. Current scientific research, statistics and cost analysis are shared to improve access to care and generate awareness for prevention techniques.
The BCCA also aims to raise awareness of the ground breaking spine research that is being conducted in universities across the country which ultimately leads to improved treatments and better health care outcomes for patients.
